Two of my favorites, since I like to photograph skyscapes:

Enjoy the rest of them too!

I love knowing how things are made. That pretty much goes for anything, cars, life, alarm clocks, whatever. Although, I’m especially interested in the process and tools artists and designers use to get their end results. If you have any interest in reading about the process of illustration from a wide range of illustrators take a look at The Tools Artists Use.
Another good read is http://drawn.ca/ which generally has some great content on illustration.

I have a love hate relationship with Flash. I love doing animations and flash stuff, but Flash sites so often throw usability out the window. This is a site built to interact with the song Soytuaire, by artist Labuat. Its all about the experience so there aren’t any usability issues for me, there is nothing to navigate :) The use of Flash here is a great example of when technology adds something more than itself. The way the interaction and animation work is like a great pairing of food and wine. The interaction heightens the song. Beautiful stuff. It has the elegance of Japanese Shodo. Less is more.

Designing information can help us see data in ways that help us achieve specific goals. Well designed data ends up having little text yet the information is delivered through a variety of visual means. That’s how we learned in kindergarten, using pictures and picture books. We process images way faster than we process words.
The Vignet Labs blog posted a great article that show some great examples of information design.
For more information on the subject here are some of my fav books:

I couldn’t believe it, it really happened!!! I heard about the rumor of Kal Penn working for Obama, but it came true…See anything is possible!
“Actor Kal Penn started a new job Monday as a liaison between the White House and Asian communities.
The Indian-American actor is taking a break from Hollywood to work as an associate director in the Office of Public Liaison, with a focus on connecting President Barack Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, as well as arts groups.”
