“The ie6-upgrade-warning is a little script (7.9kb) that displays a warning message politely informing the user to upgrade the browser to a newer version (links to newest IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome are provided).
The webpage is still visible behind a transparent background, but access to it is prevented. The idea is to force users to upgrade from IE6 and avoid the website from a bad reputation that website is not rendering correctly in IE6.
The script is completely translatable in any language, very easy to set-up (one line of code in webpage and one parameter configuration). ”

We’re at the Smackdown taping in Philly. They’re starting off with ECW Live and Smackdown taped after. Funny story, we came into the clubbox and there was a bunch of food laid out. Being hungry men we started eating. After we’re done a security guy came by saying only people with wristbands could eat . Oh well, at least that first plate was a good run…
Last year we run into the guys from 280 North, the makers AJAX applications like 280 Slides and Cappuccino. At the Future of Web Apps they unveiled Atlas, a visual development based off the Cappuccino framework tool that made us salivate.

Found this on ign.com today and was awesome segment to watch of the very near future of motion gaming. The Wii was so revolutionary with it’s motion control that Sony and Microsoft are just now showing their developments in the area (way to catch up boys!). I guess something revolutionary should buy you at least a 2-3 year head start, I mean isn’t that what the iPhone has over the next closest phone Droid. BTW, David Spira has one in our office and man it’s pretty slick. Once the open source kicks in, unless they change their policies, its going to be lights out on the iPhone.
Check out the video below, it takes like 20 seconds and you’re hooked and asking where do I pre-order!
I love hearing business owners tell their stories. We all have our stories. I use football analogies all the time.
Through the clever, entertaining and insightful stories Brad had to share with us, it became apparent that Brad Benson’s approach stems from standing out of the crowd.
1. “Trip a trigger for someone to notice you.” – Brad’s business (just like our business) has a plethora of competition. Why is it that people would travel from out of state to buy from Brad? They pass several dealerships on the way. Brad attributes this to his electronic advertising and marketing. His radio spots “trip triggers” so people remember him and his personality transcends to his business.
2. “There are two types of businesses: those who hang in there and those who make it” – Those who hang in there expense their way into profit. They will spend and spend on marketing until they reach that profit. Those who make it, carefully and consciously make decisions to spend your way into profit. Interesting viewpoints on how to look at marketing and advertising and it speaks to the culture of your business. Is marketing/advertising an expense or a spend for you?
3. “The best way for repeat customers is through the service department” – Brad does do small happy birthday mailers to his current customers, but that’s not why his customers stay loyal to him. What’s more effective is live human interaction. Getting customers back on the road through good scheduling and coordination, calling customers back, and making the experience of dealing with the dealership as pleasant as possible.
It seems like I see find weird stuff on route 1 everyday, but this thing is like a sword with a spark plug looking top…. All of it went into my tire except the top, Tim was able to use those rubber strips to patch up the tire. I’ll find out tonight when I leave to go home if they hold up
