How to check data usage on your Verizon Mifi

Got a letter today about this and Shawn’s been wondering about how to check the data usage so here it is:

“Phone: Call 1-800-922-0204 or dial *611 from a Verizon Wireless handset.  Enter your broadband device mobile number (can be found at VZAccess Manager), then press 1 to hear your data usage.

Laptop: Use VZAccess Manager. click on Update Usage button to display estimated unbilled usage for the current month.

Online: verizonwireless.com/myaccount to access the account info, there you can also check usage numbers”

One last cool thing that they give you is access to their hotspots:

“Visit verizonwireless.com/wifi to access support for Verizon Wifi which is now included with your Mobile Broadband plan and alllows you to access thousands of hotspots at no additional charge”

    Do you know how you would find out how much usage a program has?

    Hi Ryan,

    Not for a particular program itself. It only shows how much your whole computer is using.

    How does one find out their mobile hotspot mobile number? My VZ Access Manager wont let me. I use to have a USB device but have since switched to the Mifi Verizon wireless hotspot. Do I need to update it? I need to see how much usage I’m going through and do not want to exceeed it.

    If you log into your mifi itself, there is a screen that shows the phone #. Also, there is also a screen that shows your usage. I did speak with a Verizon rep and they said “If they are unable to login, they can click on the link if they don’t remember the login id or password, or they can call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 from 6am to 11pm.”

    It would be nice if Verizon would give a way to check data usage on a Mifi 4510! Especially since we don’t get billed, but we, along with everyone else in town, received a notice from our village telling us that “a few residents” have had “unusually high usage”. No specific number for what “high” usage is, and no instructions on how to check our data usage.
